Rgistration opens Saturday, December 1 for Bike Virginia 2013, to be held June 21-26. Bike Virginia is a fully supported multi-day tour with daily riding and camping, held in a different part of Virginia each year; with a different theme of historical, cultural, or geographic interest.

What about this year’s tour?

In 2013 you’ll explore the Blue Ridge Mountains on this great biking adventure. The event kicks off in Buena Vista and Lexington where you’ll enjoy 3 days alongside the Maury River. Then you’ll follow beautiful roads to our second host location in Botetourt County, part of the Greater Roanoke Region. The region makes an ideal bicycle vacation destination. It is rich with history, scenic views, and warm hospitality. See videos from our host communities on our website.

New for 2013

We’ve just completed a lengthy review and listened to your feedback. Look for great changes in 2013 like more riding, a lower rider cap at 1,600, evening socials including a route “wrap”, entertainment onsite, better camping, easier hotel accommodations, more food, and even beer and wine onsite! Read details about the new fun and improved services on our website.

Our new Bike Tour Ambassador program is getting started now too. Earn discounts on registration by helping promote the tour. Deliver posters in your community, present to a local bike club, help at the event. There are lots of fun ways to get involved and support our mission. Read more here

The Riding

It’s going to be a great year of riding. The Blue Ridge offers a wide variety of terrain. There’s something for everyone from winding valleys to fun climbs and descents. Keep up with details about the routes at they come about.
